Prisma was scheduled to be launched in April 2010 but has been postponed due to a delayed contract between Russia and Kazakhstan.
Prisma is planned to be launched on a Dnepr launcher from Yasny in southern Russia. The French climate research satellite Picard will probably be launched on the same laucher.
The estimated lifetime for Prisma is around ten months. Prisma will be launched into a low, sun-synchronous, dawn/dusk orbit at an altitude of 600 km.
The ground station and mission control center will be placed at SSC's engineering center in Solna, the newly developed RAMSES ground control system will be central.
The mission will be carried out as a long series of experiments, including both manoeuvring and sensor/motor experiments. A certain number of days will be allocated to each party.
The daily operations are to be highly autonomous and the companies involved will be able to supervise their experiments "from home" via internet.
